I will have to admit that I was not looking forward to this one since sack boys head is much bigger than his body. It can be very difficult to balance as well as have the body be dense enough to hold up the head. I tried to talk him into letting me make him into a one dimensinal cake that was laying down on a cake board but he insisted so I didn't want to let him down. I had never seen him be so excited about a cake, but let me tell you, HE WAS!!

This is a picture of what Sack Boy looks like (this is my sons favorite toy):

And here is the cake:

The body and legs are chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream and the head and arms are rice crispy treats all covered in chocolate fondant. THe head was indeed to heavy for the body and right after I took these pictures the head fell backwards and broke the body in half! So when we had the birthday the next day, i just put a book end behind his body to hold it up and nobody even cared since it only took 5 minutes for it to beheaded and eaten!

These were a gift for my sons second grade teacher. I love the colors and I was very happy with how they turned out. I made the roses using a little different technique instead of my usual one. I think they look more realistic this way. It really isn't much different and is a bit easier. I will have to share that with you in a new tutorial. The other flowers were the same with this cake except I added luster dust to the center to give it more dimension. You can get the flower impression kit here.

I just wanted to share a cake I recently made for one of my wonderful friends 25th Anniversary party. Not only did I get to make the cake but we also attended the party and had a great time! Her daughters asked me to make a cake that resembled her original cake 25 years ago and let me tell you, that thing was HUGE! Obviously I wasn't going to make it 5 or 6 tiers with flowers in between each layer since we were only feeding about 20 to 25 people. And since buttercream isn't my favorite canvas, I decided to do a modern version of the cake by covering it in fondant and adding fondant flowers.

The top layer is vanilla with cream cheese icing and the bottom was chocolate with cream cheese icing. I made the flowers very easily using THIS cutter and flower press. I absolutely love these flowers and thought they would be perfect for this cake. I added silver dragees to the centers to give it that modern flair and tie it in with the silver monogram initial for the top.

We had such a blast and I had 7 girls including my daughter! They each got a bag of goodies to help with their cupcake decorating at home. I have included pics below of what they received. I was very impressed with their skill level! They were all naturals and some of the cupcake toppers were very detailed, so I think they did an awesome job! I also had a wonderful helper to wash dishes and help clean up, as well as take pictures. Thank you so much Angie, it wouldn't have been the same without you!

Oh! If I only was having another baby boy! This is definitely one I would be using! My husband surfs, maybe he would like a party with this theme!LOL! Anyway, I could totally make the coolest cake using this design!

I have been testing out some new vanilla recipes lately, so I thought I would make a little tutorial for you on how to decorate cupcakes to look like hydrangeas and roses. These are my two favorite flowers so I absolutely loved the way they turned out!

I recently stumbled onto Glory's website Glorious Treats and found a tutorial on her site on how to decorate hydrangea cupcakes and hers turned out gorgeous using blues and purples. It inspired me to make my own and so since I also love green hydrangeas I thought I would give it a shot. I used a different tip than she did but it still works the same.

I have included a tutorial below that I made for you and all you have to have to do is print it and put it in a binder. I would love to hear some feedback on if it helped being able to print it out since it takes so long making them. I would love to be able to make more for inspiration for you if it is helpful.

I hope the directions are clear. It is harder to tell someone how to do something rather than just show them. Maybe I will learn how to make some videos for you since this would make things a lot easier to understand. Good Luck!

But it was one that I made from my own design and was hoping to find a "real" purse just like it. Unfortunately I was unable to find one anywhere until i went to Etsy.com. They have homemade items that are so unique and beautiful and I had a feeling I would find just what I was looking for!

I searched through tons of photos and etsy stores until I found Jessie! I was amazed how much it looked like my purse cake and so was she. The coolest part of this whole thing is that Jessie actually owned her own bakery for five years! It sure is a small world!

Jessie lives in New Zealand and has a blog that you can find here and if you want to go get a purse of your own then go to her Etsy shop HERE. She even has FREE SHIPPING to the U.S. I absolutely love my new purse and I even made a new friend from across the globe!

So here is my Cake Purse:

I thought I would make a dessert buffet this year but my children insisted that I have a chocolate fountain like we usually do. I can't tell you how much the kids love the fountain and sneaking their fingers into the flowing chocolate. It is also a big mess afterwards and I find chocolate in some of the most unexpected places. But most importantly, the kids love it and they look forward to it every year.

So without further ado, here are a few pictures of our Christmas Chocolate fountain:

Homemade Cookie Pops

Homemade cheese ball and crackers

Here is my cheese ball recipe:

1 block of sharp cheddar grated

1- 8 oz. cream cheese softened

1/4 cup of chopped green onions

a few dashes of Lawry's season salt

Mix all ingredients together with blender and roll into a ball using your hands. Sprinkle Lawry's season salt onto a plate and roll the cheese ball into it. Place the ball onto plastic wrap and roll it up and put in fridge. When you are ready to serve it allow it to sit out for about and hour so it will be soft wnough to spread. Serve with ritz crackers.

Candied strawberries (made by my brother-in-law)

Just strawberries dipped in the candied apple mix you can buy in the grocery store. YUMMY!

Christmas Punch

1- 2liter of ginger ale

1-large can of pineapple juice

1 small container of lime or pineapple sherbet

Mix the pineapple juice and ginger ale in a punch bowl and add softened sherbet right before serving. This is my favorite punch and we always go through 3 batches and never have any left.
