How to Ice a Cake

Here is a tutorial on how to ice a cake for covering in fondant. I have seen others have a thick icing under the fondant but I typically have at least four to six layers of cake, which allows me to have more icing in between the layers. I have found that having a thin layer of icing gives the cake a much smoother edge and requires less time. So here we go:
